كشف البرازيلي، رودريجو جوس، جناح فريق ريال مدريد، أنه كان لديه اتفاق بالفعل مع برشلونة قبل الانتقال إلى النادي الملكي، عندما كان لاعبًا في سانتوس، لكنه كان يرغب في ارتداء قميص المرينجي.

رودريجو كان توصل إلى اتفاق للانضمام إلى ريال مدريد في 2018، ولكن ارتدى قميص الملكي في 2019 قادمًا من سانتوس مقابل 45 مليون يورو.

وواصل: “لقد طلبت دائمًا من والدي الانتظار قليلاً ولكنه قال (يا رجل ستلعب مع ميسي)، لكنني طلبت منه الانتظار، يجب أن يكون ريال مدريد.. قلت له انتظر يا أبي، سيصل شيء منهم”.

واختتم: “في يوم ما عاد والدي إلى المنزل وسار بجوارنا مباشرة ودخل غرفتي وعاد بقميص ريال مدريد وقميص برشلونة وقال لي (الآن اختار) وأنا قلت لا يوجد شيء للتفكير فيه واخترت قميص ريال مدريد”.

Posturas bem distintas no primeiro tempo. O Atlético teve mais bola e mostrou-se mais disposto a atacar, enquanto a Ponte se fechou com competência e impediu que o time mineiro conseguisse organizar suas jogadas. A primeira grande defesa e única em 35 minutos foi do goleiro Aranha, após o cruzamento de Cazares e a cabeçada perigosa do atacante Fred.

Apesar da posse de bola esmagadora, a equipe mineira explorou sem sucesso a zona central do campo e mal chutou ao gol. Precisando encarar uma linha defensiva formada com cinco jogadores, o Galo rodou a bola com paciência em busca de espaços, mas raramente os encontrou. Mas quando a brecha foi dada, o castigo veio. A blitz no início da etapa final dava sinais que o cenário permaneceria com o Atlético controlando e empurrando a Ponte para aumentar a vantagem. Mas o time foi novamente vítima de um apagão. Mais adiantada e com fome de gols, a Macaca empatou em ótimo contra-ataque com Lucca, após boa jogada de Lins e Wendell. Dois minutos mais tarde, os visitantes colocaram o Galo de novo na roda e o camisa 9 apareceu dentro da área para fazer o segundo. Vira-vira da Ponte em menos de cinco minutos.

A virada caiu como balde de água fria dentro do Horto. A intensidade de antes não foi mais vista no Atlético e foi a Ponte quem passou a levar mais perigo de gol, forçando o goleiro Victor a executar boas defesas. A saída de Roger foi colocar o time para cima com Maicsuel, Otero e Rafael Moura. Sem encher os olhos, mas na base do abafa, o empate saiu com He-Man, de cabeça, após escanteio pela direita.

Faltando mais dez minutos para o fim do jogo, a eletricidade tomou conta da partida. Sem se dar por vencida, a Ponte Preta seguiu em busca de mais um gol, ganhando e oferecendo espaços ao Atlético, que apresentava a mesma postura. Mas o placar não foi alterado e o jogo terminou mesmo em 2 a 2.

There appears to be interest in purchasing the club from PAI Capital, which has been backed by a number of former players (Daily Mail). As per The Telegraph, another bid will be lodged this week, but that does not appear to have pleased some supporters who believe that the delay in the takeover is damaging their transfer prospects. Indeed, a few think it could even be an excuse from the current owners for the lack of new arrivals.

Birmingham City have entered talks over a deal to bring Troy Deeney to St. Andrew’s.

What’s the talk?

That’s according to a report by The Athletic, who claim that the Blues and Watford are in discussions regarding a deal for the Hornets club captain, with all parties believed to be keen to find an amicable conclusion for the transfer of the 33-year-old.

The report continues by stating that Xisco Munoz’s side may even be willing to release the centre-forward from the last year of his current contract, which would allow Birmingham to effectively sign Deeney on a free transfer.

It is also claimed that, following the arrivals of Emmanuel Dennis, Joshua King, Ashley Fletcher and Cucho Hernandez at Vicarage Road this summer, the veteran forward is keen to secure a move away from the Premier League side in search of regular playing time.

And, when questioned on Saturday regarding his side’s link with Deeney, Lee Bowyer said: “Troy is a good player, he is a good striker, scores goals, works hard for his team. I know him, I have met him a couple of times, he seems like a winner.”

Major coup

While both knee and Achilles tendon injuries limited Deeney’s appearances in Watford’s promotion-winning campaign last term, with the 33-year-old featuring in just 19 Championship fixtures for the Hornets, the centre-forward’s signing would nevertheless appear to be a major coup for Bowyer’s side this summer.

Despite his lack of game time last season, the £2.25m-rated still managed to bag seven goals and provide three assists in the league, while his returns in previous – and less injury-plagued – campaigns clearly illustrates the striker’s ability to find the back of the net on a regular basis.

Indeed, over his 27 Premier League appearances in 2019/20, the £65k-per-week forward bagged ten goals and provided two assists. He also netted nine goals and registered five assists over 32 top-flight fixtures in 2018/19, fired five strikes and two assists over 29 appearances in 2017/18 and then he managed ten goals and four assists over 37 matches in 2016/17.

To cap things off, the power forward racked up a whopping 13 goals and eight assists back in 2016/17.

As such, it is evident that, despite his advancing years, Deeney is a player who still boasts the goalscoring ability to play a major role for a side in the Championship, with his potential arrival at Birmingham undoubtedly providing Bowyer will a boost to his side’s chances of mounting a push for a play-off spot this season.

Lots of Manchester City supporters have reacted to reports that Phil Foden has been offered a new contract with the club.

According to the Daily Star (via City Xtra), the highly-rated academy graduate has been offered a new six-year contract worth £150,000 per week at the Etihad Stadium.

The 21-year-old already has 124 senior appearances for his boyhood club, scoring 31 goals and registering 22 assists after making his debut in November 2017 against Feyenoord in the Champions League.

Last season was Foden’s best to date, scoring 16 goals in all competitions as Pep Guardiola’s side reached the Champions League final for the first time in the club’s history.

After appearing in the European Championship for England during the summer, he is now one of City’s key players and he is set to be rewarded for his positive progression. He is currently on £40,000 per week, potentially seeing him earn almost quadruple his current wage if the latest reports come to fruition.
