Pouco utilizado pelo ex-treinador, o camisa 17 saiu do banco de reservas para ajudar o São Paulo a vencer o Atlético-MG na última quinta e já deve ser titular do time amanhã, no clássico contra o Corinthians, na Arena Corinthians.
Contra o Galo, Rogério deu uma assistência para Alan Kardec e sofreu pênalti convertido por Luis Fabiano após entrar no lugar de Pato. Além de dar certo, a substituição serviu de ensaio para o Majestoso, já que o camisa 11 não poderá atuar por estar emprestado pelo Corinthians.
Não foi à toa que Rogério deixou o Morumbi exibindo sorrisos e confiante de que a boa atuação pode marcar uma retomada. Durante o jogo, a torcida vibrou a cada lance e na internet a empolgação foi maior. Rogério jurou amor à camisa e aproveitou para agradecer os responsáveis por trazê-lo ao São Paulo. Ele creditou sua chegada a Milton Cruz, apesar de ter sido contratado quando o colombiano Juan Carlos Osorio comandava o time. Na época, Osorio chegou a dizer que foi seu auxiliar Luiz Pompillio quem observara o jogador, ex-Vitória. A dupla esteve no Morumbi quinta-feira.

Rogério deve ser titular por permitir a Milton manter o esquema tático, mas Alan Kardec, autor de dois gols contra o Galo, também mantém esperanças de ser utilizado. Uma alternativa seria escalar o camisa 14 como centroavante, mas neste caso Luis Fabiano sairia. Só que o camisa 9 marcou quatro gols nos seus últimos quatro jogos. É relevante.
O último treino antes do clássico será hoje e, se depender da empolgação de Rogério e da torcida, o lugar de Pato já tem dono no clássico.
Another Premier League season dawns upon us this weekend, and that can only mean one thing – the return of the mid-season sackings that can send teams and fanbases into turmoil, lovely stuff.
In all seriousness though, it is something that can almost always be expected each season, and a lot of the time it can be the person you least expect to get the chop. Last season saw seven managers see the exit door at their respective clubs, with three of those sackings being made by just Watford alone, with the Hornets going through four manager’s last campaign.
This season, things are expected to heat up again – with plenty of cracks already starting to show with many of the teams this summer after some poor pre-season games from certain clubs. Here are the top 10 favourites to be sacked this season…
10. Carlo Ancelotti

Despite being appointed by the Toffees back in December last year, Ancelotti is the tenth favourite to get the chop this season. This summer has seen the Italian bring in some impressive reinforcements for his squad, most notably James Rodriguez, Abdoulaye Doucoure, and Allan – but it is likely that these additions won’t work straight away.
Everton have been known for chopping and changing managers quite frequently, and this may be why Ancelotti has made it onto the list – as well as the fact the competition in the league this season is as high as it has ever been, so let’s wait and see how Carlo and his players perform this season.
9. Graham Potter
The Seagulls had a strange season last time out. There first half of the season showed some real glimmers of talent, with wins against Arsenal, Tottenham, and Everton – after the Christmas break as well as the COVID-19 lockdown, there form appeared to dip and the club ended up finishing in 15th. This may have something to do with Potter’s place in the sack race, and rightly so.
Brighton have a great squad and in my opinion, should be finishing higher than 15th, and Potter will need to make sure that at least a mid-table finish is achieved to ensure his job at the club is safe. New signings such as Joel Veltman and Adam Lallana add a certain new quality to the squad – and Potter will be hoping that they adapt and adjust quickly to keep him at the club.
8. Marcelo Bielsa
Next up is Leeds manager Marcelo Bielsa. The Argentine helped the club to promotion last season, securing Premier League football for the first time in 16 years – and there was doubt as to whether Bielsa would take charge of the club this season, only recently just signing a one year extension. This may be why he is in the top 10 this season, does he know something we don’t about the squad Leeds have going into this season?
Perhaps they aren’t up to scratch to handle the intensity and quality of the league? Whatever the reason, Bielsa could be at risk this season if things don’t pan out the way the White’s owners hope, and it may be a season to forget for the Leeds hopeful if this happens – resulting in Bielsa walking through the exit door.
7. Sean Dyche

Burnley had a positive campaign last time out and finished in 10th place in the Premier League – the club’s second-highest finish in their history. This season, however, may spell a different end to it than last.
Sean Dyche has been at the club for almost 8 years and has failed to improve on their 7th place finish during the 2017/18 – this lack of progress and the lack of signings this summer could spell disaster for Dyche and may lead to his sacking this season if things start to slip again under his reign.
This summer has seen the club only add goalkeeper Will Norris from Wolves to their squad, and it’s almost a guarantee that he won’t start any games due to Nick Pope being the clubs No.1. I can’t see this season being a great one for the Clarets, and Dyche could be on his way out.
6. Slaven Bilic
The Croatian has done a great job to get the Baggies back up into the Premier League – but this season could spell disaster for him – with the club’s squad still not looking quite up to the standard of the league.
Despite securing the permanent deals of Grady Diangana and Matheus Pereira, the squad’s defence will stay the same, as will much of their midfield – this lack of reinforcements and the competition that the club will face in the Premier League, it is understanding to see Bilic in this year’s sack race and I believe we could easily see him get sacked by the club this season, especially given that his contract expires at the end of the season, with no news of an extension.
5. Steve Bruce
The Magpies have a habit of sacking managers, and it appears that things haven’t changed much with Steve Bruce 5th in the sack race. This summer has seen the Geordie manager add some impressive signings to his squad with the likes of Callum Wilson and Ryan Fraser from Bournemouth, and Jamal Lewis from Norwich – but if things don’t go the way Mike Ashley plans, we could easily see the sacking of Bruce at the club.
The talk of a possible takeover last season was enough to rock the Newcastle boat and start speculation of Bruce’s future despite a strong start to the season. Form dipped off after this news was broken, and ended with the Toon finishing the league in 13th place.
Bruce will need to do his best to keep his job at Newcastle, with Ashley often sacking managers who needed more time to implement their vision ad could of helped to improve the club further, as he did with Rafael Benitez.
4. Dean Smith

After narrowly surviving relegation last season with a 1-1 draw against West Ham in their final game, Aston Villa will likely struggle again this season.
Despite the signings of Ollie Watkins and Matty Cash, there is still speculation of Jack Grealish leaving the club, and even if he were to stay, the competition in the league this season may prove too much to handle for Smith and his side.
The Englishman sits fourth in the sack race and rightly so, with Villa’s side almost facing relegation last campaign and could possibly face that prospect again this season, and I could see the club going down with Smith facing the sack midway or to the end of the season.
3. Scott Parker
Scott Parker managed to take Fulham back to the Premier League via the playoffs last season, beating Brentford in the final. This summer has seen the Englishman bring in some important signings, with the likes of Alphonse Areola on loan from PSG, Kenny Tete from Lyon, the permanent signing of Anthony Knockaert, and Mario Lemina on loan from Southampton.
In light of this, the club will still have a task on their hands to stay up this season, with the bottom half of the table looking as though there is some tough competition to face. Parker will likely struggle in his first full season in the Premier League, and we may see him be the first in the sack race if things don’t go their way.
2. Roy Hodgson

Out of the top 10, this may be the saddest one of them all. Roy Hodgson is likely to be going into his last season for Palace, with the 73-year-old likely coming to the end of his time in football.
This summer has seen the Eagles sign youngsters Eberechi Eze and Nathan Ferguson, as well as signing Michy Batshuayi again on loan – but with these additions, we still may see Hodgson face the sack this season if things don’t pick up from last time out, which saw the club finish in 14th after a poor end to the season.
With Hodgson second favourite in the sack race, it is likely we will see his untimely departure from the club this season.
1. David Moyes
It probably comes as no surprise that David Moyes is favourite to be the first manager sacked this season – with West Ham owners often having the tendency to dismiss managers after a run of poor form, without giving them the right amount of time and resources to help rebuild the club and take them up the Premier League table.
Moyes has had a tough time of it this summer, with the club selling Grady Diangana to West Brom after an impressive loan spell at the Baggies, and have failed to sign anyone of note ahead of the new season.
The Hammers are going into another season with the same squad that narrowly missed relegation last campaign, without any new additions, and this could spell the end for Moyes and his second spell at the club if he doesn’t get the backing he deserves before October 5th – as the current squad does not look capable of producing results that the Scotsman deserves.

Liverpool are ready to face off against Arsenal for the second time in a week as they prepare to lock horns in the Carabao Cup.
The two sides will once again meet at Anfield, but a place in the quarter-finals is at stake this time round. The Reds will hope to continue their fine start to the 2020/21 season with another win in the bag.
Jurgen Klopp fielded a team of all but one fringe player in the previous round against Lincoln City. Virgil van Dijk was the only senior man to start the match against the League One side, and it will be interesting to see if that is the case again this evening.
However, Arsenal boast some already impressive youngsters in the form of Ainsley Maitland-Niles and Eddie Nketiah. Liverpool must be sure to inject some more experienced talent into the starting lineup tonight, and one man at the top of the pecking order should be Diogo Jota.
The club’s newest recruit enjoyed his first goal on his Premier League debut after firing a volley past a bamboozled Bernd Leno in their last outing against the Gunners. With the win fresh in his mind, the £45m Anfield signing could be the ideal option to start in Klopp’s attack.
Jota needed less than ten minutes after coming off the bench to open up his Liverpool account and score their third goal of the game. He also squandered a big chance to score following his three shots at goal (via Sofascore) – displaying his hunger to find the back of the net, albeit perhaps also showing some nerves.
If Klopp is to rest his usual front three, Jota should be one of the first names on tonight’s team-sheet. After enjoying his first goal at Anfield, the striker’s instinct in him will be ready to grab the next batch. There’s arguably no better time to re-deploy him than after he’s just played the exact same side at the same ground.

Pelas redes sociais, Romário negou ter feito acordo, mas foi bastante questionado pelos fãs.
“O @RomarioOnze vai fazer acordo com o Pedro Paulo é? Mesmo depois de descobrir o histórico de ‘casos isolados’ de violência doméstica?”, perguntou uma seguidora.
Pedro Paulo foi denunciado pelo menos duas vezes, em 2008 e 2010, por ter agredido sua ex-mulher, Alexandra Marcondes, em episódios de brigas familiares. Apesar da repercussão negativa desses atos de violência – que ele inclusive admite ter cometido, o secretário não perdeu o apoio de Paes, que quer fazer dele o seu sucessor.
Em entrevista coletiva na inauguração do estádio olímpico de canoagem slalom, em Deodoro, Paes confirmou o entendimento com o ex-jogador.
– Tenho um entendimento com o senador Romário de que, se ele não vier candidato, ele vai apoiar o Pedro Paulo – afirmou o prefeito.

Paes, contudo, negou que o acordo tivesse relação com a ocultação de uma suposta conta secreta de Romário em um banco da Suíça, versão que surgiu na conversa gravada que levou à prisão do líder do governo no senado, Delcídio do Amaral (PT-MS), e do banqueiro André Esteves no âmbito da operação Lava Jato.
A versão do acordo e a existência da conta suíça foram negados pelo Baixinho em sua conta no Facebook:
“Não é novidade para ninguém que o prefeito Eduardo Paes tem interesse que eu apoie o seu candidato à sucessão. Não sou responsável pelo que terceiros falam, apenas pelos meus atos. Assim sendo, deixo claro que não tenho nenhum acordo com ninguém e, infelizmente, o dinheiro não é meu. Digo infelizmente porque, com certeza, se fosse meu, seria fruto de muito trabalho honesto”, disse ele.
Romário lembra que houve um desmentido formal da própria instituição bancária que apontou como falso o extrato publicado pela revista Veja e que processa a revista pelos danos causados a sua imagem.
Apesar da contradição quanto ao acordo, Romário e Eduardo Paes apresentaram a mesma explicação para o encontro que tiveram em Brasília com o líder do governo no senado, Delcídio do Amaral (PT-MS), citado nas gravações que levaram à prisão do petista. Segundo ambos, o objetivo do encontro era buscar apoio para colocar em pauta um projeto do Senado, de autoria de Romário, e de interesse da prefeitura do Rio. As explicações de Paes sobre as gravações foi dada na nota oficial que se segue:
“O prefeito Eduardo Paes informa que esteve no gabinete do senador Delcidio Amaral, no dia 4 de novembro, na companhia dos senadores Ricardo Ferraço e Romário e do secretário Municipal de Governo, Pedro Paulo, em busca de apoio para colocar em pauta e votar o projeto de Resolução do Senado Federal 17/2015 (que altera a resolução 43/ 2001). A matéria, que já foi aprovada, é de autoria dos senadores Romário e José Serra, e trata da securitização das dívidas de estados e municípios.O prefeito reafirma ainda que o próprio órgão de imprensa que veiculou a existência de uma suposta conta do senador Romário na Suíça já desmentiu a informação e admitiu o erro. Globally sought-after talent Jadon Sancho has thrown a huge curveball into the mix as he would reportedly favour a move to Anfield over Old Trafford next season.
The Independent (via Sportsmole) has reported that the Dortmund winger could be seeking a move to Liverpool despite his talks with Manchester United. Both the reigning Premier League champions and Bayern Munich have overtaken the Red Devils in pursuit of his signature.
Jurgen Klopp has been highlighted as someone who could lure Sancho to the fortress of Anfield over the coming months.
Liverpool could snatch Sancho
The England international has been linked to several Premier League clubs this year. The Reds are certainly interested but seemingly couldn’t justify his mammoth asking price. Back in June, Dortmund valued their star player at an astronomical £117million, according to Bild (via talkSPORT). However, due to the current financial climate, neither Liverpool nor United have been able to facilitate a move.
Dortmund lost out on the Bundesliga title by quite a margin last season, finishing 13 points behind winners Bayern. Sancho could be weighing up his options as he starts thinking about winning trophies. Klopp’s success with both Liverpool and Dortmund could be a deciding factor in the 20-year-old’s next move.

Sancho has quickly established himself as one of the best young talents on the planet. Last campaign, he notched a delightful 20 goals and 20 assists across competitions for his club, taking his Dortmund total to 35 goals and 45 assists all together (via Transfermarkt).
The winger also enjoyed time in England with Manchester City, scoring 15 goals in just 22 appearances in the U18 league. However, Sancho was never called up to the senior squad. He may have unfinished business in his home country – that being the desire to dominate the Premier League.
If Liverpool are to make a move for the forward, it will likely be next summer when the picture is clearer on finances. With three years left on his contract, it’s also without question that Sancho will still cost in excess of £100million. But if the Reds do strike a club record deal for the services of a player who has been labelled “world class” by former player Emre Can, they will have seriously caught Man United with their trousers down.

O técnico Edgardo Bauza ainda não foi apresentado no São Paulo, mas já alinha ideia com a diretoria para reforçar o time para 2016. O argentino disse que já indicou alguns nomes aos cartolas e um deles é seu grande conhecido: o lateral-direito Buffarini, campeão da Libertadores com Bauza pelo San Lorenzo em 2014.
– Já disse a eles (dirigentes) que se tivesse a possibilidade, eu gostaria muito de contar com Buffarini – afirmou Bauza, à Rádio América, da Argentina.
– Há alguns jogadores dirigidos por mim que me interessam, mas não posso falar em nomes – complementou o comandante.
Buffarini tem 27 anos e contrato com o San Lorenzo até 2017. Chegou a ter seu nome ligado ao Grêmio, mas na época, uma suposta pedida de 3 milhões de dólares do San Lorenzo teria esfriado o interesse. O jogador também atua no meio de campo pela direita.
A primeira preocupação de Bauza é com o setor defensivo que, segundo ele, sofre muito gols. Na mesma entrevista, ele citou os 47 tomados no Campeonato Brasileiro deste ano, em que o Tricolor terminou na quarta colocação e conseguiu a vaga na Libertadores.

Bauza disse que pretende ter um elenco com 30 atletas e disse que vai se consultar com compatriotas para entender mais do futebol brasileiro. Citou o ex-treinador do Palmeiras Ricardo Gareca e o ex-lateral Sorín, comentarista da ESPN no Brasil.
– Vou tratar de falar com eles para que me contem do futebol brasileiro – disse.
Bauza ainda comentou da fase do São Paulo sem títulos. O último foi o da Copa Sul-Americana em 2012. Ele, apesar do grande desafio, se mostrou feliz com o acordo.
– Faz três anos que o São Paulo não ganha nada. Para eles, é uma catástrofe – afirmou Bauza, que ainda confirmou que conversou com o Flamengo antes de assinar com o Tricolor por um ano.
– Em Buenos Aires, me reuni faz um mês com dirigentes do Flamengo – contou.
O treinador confirmou que deve se apresentar ao São Paulo na próxima quarta-feira, quando chegará ao Brasil. Ele está com a família no Equador, onde sagrou-se campeão da Libertadores em 2008, pela LDU.
De cara, ele conversará com a diretoria sobre reforços. Ao LANCE!, o vice-presidente de futebol Ataíde Gil Guerreiro disse que falará com o treinador sobre a viabilidade da contratação do zagueiro Diego Lugano, por exemplo.
