Barcelona are eyeing a summer move for Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette, according to Mundo Deportivo.

What’s the word?

Barcelona are attempting to sign Antoine Griezmann this summer, the report claims, with the Atletico Madrid forward having been a target for the Catalan giants since last season.

Griezmann’s release clause will drop from €200million (£170m) to €120m (£102m) this summer, with Barca finally seeing the France international as an attainable target.

Lacazette, though, is said to be a back-up in case Griezmann decides to remain at Wanda Metropolitano Stadium.

The report claims that the Gunners striker could cost as much as €70m (£59.5m), but Barca are said to be aware of the prospect of lowering that figure by including players in the deal.

The likes of midfielder Andre Gomes, currently on loan at Everton, and Samuel Umtiti, the central defender, are name-checked by Mundo Deportivo as potential makeweights.

The perfect opportunity

This deal makes all the sense in the world for Arsenal.

Lacazette has been in decent form this season, scoring 18 goals and laying on 12 assists this season.

But reports claim that, if the Gunners miss out on Champions League football, manager Unai Emery will be handed a transfer budget of just £40m.

Cashing in on their second-best striker – Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is quicker, more efficient and a better player to build around – and boosting their kitty while potentially receiving a game-changing central defender in return is a no-brainer.

This is not a Thierry Henry situation, where Arsenal fought tooth and nail to keep him in north London before his move to Camp Nou.

This is the exact opposite; Emery should be helping him pack.

وأوضحت الشبكة، أنّ شاو سيغيب 6 أسابيع عن الملاعب، ولن يتواجد في المباريات العشر المُقبلة، لـ ثالث ترتيب الدوري الإنجليزي في الموسم الماضي.

شاو لن يتواجد في مباريات وست بروميتش، باشاك شهير، ساوثهامبون، باريس سان جيرمان، وست هام، لايبزيج، إلى جانب مانشستر سيتي، شيفيلد يونايتد، ليدز يونايتد، إيفرتون.

وقالت الشبكة إنّ الظهير الأيسر صاحب الـ25 عامًا، قد يتواجد في مباراة ليستر سيتي، يوم 26 ديسمبر القادم.

With one game of the Premier League season left to play, it’s soon time for one of the most exciting periods of the footballing calendar, the summer transfer window.

And this year’s edition of the transfer bonanza is expected to be a big one, with teams all over the country expected to overhaul their squads and make those signings that will take them to the next level, and for West Ham, this summer is a big one.

Manuel Pellegrini has a clear goal of wanting to get the Hammers into contention for the top-six, and he’s done well in his first season in east London, but it is clear that the Chilean manager needs more if he is to take West Ham further in the league, and reports are indicating the club are looking down a division for talent.

According to the Daily Mail, the Hammers are interested in Blackburn Rovers star Bradley Dack, who has built a reputation for himself in the lower divisions as one of the best goal-scoring midfielders in the country with 15 goals in the Championship this season alone.

The 25-year-old would add goals to West Ham given his impressive record in the Championship and League One, but if the Hammers are to sign one player from the lower English divisions this summer, Dack isn’t the answer.

Aston Villa midfielder Jack Grealish is a name that has long been linked with a move to the Premier League, with the 23-year-old continuing to star for the historic Birmingham-based club since their relegation from the top-flight, and West Ham should be making the playmaker a top target this summer.

The Hammers have been linked with Grealish in the past via the Mirror, and the Villa star is more than ready for a return to the Premier League after impressing with his boyhood club for some time.

Signing Grealish would be a big sign of intent from the Hammers and would add much-needed creativity to the side that has been sorely missed with Manuel Lanzini disappointing this season.

Wolves rounded off their first season back in the Premier League with a loss to runners up Liverpool at Anfield.

It was a defeat which saw the Midlands outfit finish in an impressive 7th place in the Premier League, Wolves have shown well and truly that you can come into the top flight and make a big impression.

Manager Nuno Santo has been a breath of fresh air with his attacking football and no fear attitude, and with a few additions ovwither the summer we could well see Wolves challenging even higher next term and ensuring a European spot is clinched.

Wolves already have players in their squad who are more than good enough to play Champions League football, with the likes of Ruben Neves and Diogo Jota being the first two names what jump to the front of the tongue.

The Molineux outfit won’t be averse to spending a bit more money either, with the backing of rich owners and now a season of Premier League money under their belt, we could well see Wolves go out and add some big name and money signings to the ranks.

Obviously, there will be question marks over the dreaded ‘second season syndrome’ we so often see, but with Wolves, you get the impression that they are a club on the up and are here to stay in terms of Premier League football.

A few shrewd additions, a years experience under their belt in the top flight, and plenty of ambition and hope around the club mean that the future of Wolves – both immediate and long-term – looks in safe hands.

Three things are guaranteed in life. Death, taxes, and Yann M’Vila being linked with a move to the Premier League.

The French midfielder has since time immemorial been rumoured with a move to England ever since breaking through a Stade Rennais in 2011, with Arsenal the major players and even being named as a player who could become better than Premier League legend Patrick Vieira by former Chelsea man Marcel Desailly, but now, it’s West Ham’s turn.

The Hammers, according to L’Equipe via Sport Witness, are interested in the now 28-year-old midfielder, who has come off the back of a solid season with Saint Etienne as Les Verts finished fourth in the Ligue 1 table, and the Frenchman could be a surprise success in east London should Manuel Pellegrini decide to take the plunge.

Valued at £9 million on Transfermarkt, M’Vila could be an affordable signing for the Hammers, and with Pedro Obiang likely to be heading out for the exit door this summer, the club will be able to recoup any transfer fee for the Spaniard into a direct replacement, and the Saint Etienne midfielder fits the bill.

M’Vila has proven to be a solid defensive midfielder this season for Saint Etienne, and in a West Ham XI the Frenchman would add solid cover for the defence, plugging a hole that has cost the Hammers many goals this season.

The Hammers are in need of defensive cover in the midfield this summer, and M’Vila can fit the bill to a tee if Pellegrini is willing to take the risk for the Saint Etienne enforcer.

صحيفة “موند ديبورتيفو” الإسبانية، أكدت بأن ما يتم تداوله في الإعلام الإنجليزي حول رغبة برشلونة في عودة أداما تراوري صاحب الـ24 عامًا، ليس صحيحًا.

وأشارت إلى أن برشلونة يرى في عودة تراوري، مخاطرة غير مجدية، حيث أن النادي الكتالوني لا يبحث عن أجنحة الآن، وتراوري ليس من اللاعبين الذين يمكنهم التأقلم مع أسلوب برشلونة.

وانضم تراوري للمنتخب الإسباني، ولعب للاروخا خلال فترة التوقف الدولي الأخيرة.

Celtic have enjoyed yet another season of success and will look to carry that winning mentality onwards to the next campaign.

Whether they’ll still be managed by Neil Lennon remains to be seen, but Celtic are serial winners, nevertheless, and will continue to be so under any managerial regime.

The real test for them is finding talent in the transfer market that will help them achieve a place among Europe’s top teams.

They want to become an outfit capable of fighting in the Champions League and for that to happen, recruitment is key.

Celtic undoubtedly already have a good group of forwards, but MLS star Alberth Elis (linked with the club on May 8th in the Scottish Sun) could bring something completely different to Celtic Park.

Elis (who is valued at £2.2 million on Transfermarkt) is a player that Celtic have admired for a while now and this summer could be when the two finally join forces.

Currently playing for Houston Dynamo in the MLS, Elis has enjoyed great success in front of goal which is surely what attracted Celtic to him in the first place.

Since the MLS restarted in March, Elis has provided four goals and six assists in 10 games, a great record regardless of the league’s quality.

At the age of 23, Elis will be hoping to reach new heights sooner rather than later, which is something a move to Celtic could help him do.

With the chance to play in Europe and fight for silverware, there is nothing that is off-putting about a move to Celtic for Elis and it’s an opportunity he should grab with two hands.
