While Arsenal are struggling to finalise a deal for Zubimendi right now, with advanced talks stalling (CaughtOffside), they haven’t completely given up the chase either, and it is believed that the Gunners could strike a deal for Guimaraes for around £59 million if Newcastle fail to qualify for the Champions League.
News of Berta plotting moves for both midfielders was then backed up by reports closer to home, with GiveMeSport’s Ben Jacobs sharing that Guimaraes has been put forward by Arsenal’s new transfer chief as a serious option.
Arsenal’s interest in the Brazil international with Zubimendi appears pretty concrete at this stage, which comes as good news considering Thomas Partey and Jorginho are set to leave when their contracts expire this summer.

The £120,000-per-week striker has dazzled as one of the English top flight’s standout forwards this season, and despite the potential cost involved in their mooted double-swoop for Zubimendi and Guimaraes, it is believed Berta may also try to sign Isak for Arsenal alongside the pair.
“So Zubimendi is very much the Edu target, but Berta is going to be looking at Bruno Guimaraes,” said Jacobs to GiveMeSport.
“And my understanding is that Arsenal may try for both Zubimendi and Guimaraes, plus Isak or [Benjamin] Sesko.”
The Swede has scored 22 goals in just 32 appearances across all competitions, so Arsenal are well aware of his quality, but a deal for him could be too much to ask. Newcastle value their man at around £150 million, so the Gunners would need to smash their transfer record to even hope of prising Isak away from St. James’ Park.
Arteta personally wants Isak, according to other reports, but Sesko may be a much more realistic target considering the release clause in his contract.

Back in January 2021, United completed a £36m deal to land winger Amad Diallo from Italian side Atalanta, with the fee a huge one given his tender age of just 18.

The Ivorian linked up with Rangers and Sunderland, notching 14 goals throughout 2022/23 whilst with the Black Cats, often being known for scoring a screamer or two.
Despite returning to the club last season, this year has been his breakthrough year, notching nine goals and seven assists across all competitions, most of which have come under Ruben Amorim.

However, despite his impressive form at Old Trafford to date, the club made a huge mistake offloading a player who was once ahead of the youngster in the pecking order – thriving away from Manchester as a result.

Despite Amad’s progress at United over the last few months, the club have certainly made some huge calls they could live to regret, selling players on the cheap who have gone on to star elsewhere.
Angel Gomes is a player who springs to mind, spending the majority of his youth years at Old Trafford, before departing on a free transfer in the summer of 2020 – now being a full England international – showcasing the mistake the club made in allowing him to leave.
However, they made a similar mistake, allowing Anthony Elanga to depart in the summer of 2023, leaving in a £15m deal to join Nottingham Forest, ending his seven-year spell in the North West.
The Swedish international made 55 appearances for the club’s first-team, often featuring in the senior ranks whilst Amad spent his respective spells out on loan.
Elanga, who has previously been labelled “phenomenal” by journalist Zach Lowy, even scored in the Champions League against Atlético Madrid during the 2021/22 season – showcasing his importance to the first-team.

However, after just five starts in the Premier League throughout 2022/23, Erik ten Hag would offload him, a decision that would be a huge mistake given his form this season.
The 22-year-old has notched five goals and nine assists across all competitions this campaign, including a double against Ipswich Town in his last outing – netting the first double of his professional career.
He’s also managed to outperform Amad in numerous key areas throughout the year, showcasing the development he’s made under Nuno Espírito Santo at the City Ground.
His lack of action during his final year in Manchester ultimately led to Ten Hag offloading him, with the winger needing valuable minutes to continue his progression.
You can’t blame the Swede for wanting to move on to take his career to the next level, but now he’s done just that, many around the club must wish he had stayed with the Red Devils, offering Amorim another dimension within the club’s forward line.

Mitchell Santner delivered a top all-round performance as Worcestershire Rapids beat Derbyshire Falcons by 28 runs at Derby to book a place in the Vitality Blast quarter-finals.The New Zealander hammered 64 including five sixes off 46 balls as the Rapids raced to 222 for 5 with Adam Hose smashing an unbeaten 42 from 21 balls. Wayne Madsen scored 63 from 32 balls but the Falcons were bowled out for 194 with Pat Brown taking 3 for 35, Usama Mir 3 for 38 while Santner claimed 1 for 28 from his four overs.The result means the Falcons miss out on a place in the last eight while the Rapids finish third in the North Group.Brett D’Oliveira’s decision to bat was vindicated and he set the tone by driving Alex Thomson over long-on for six. ويخوض ريال مدريد منافسات بطولة كأس العالم للأندية في الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية، وقد تأهل للدور نصف النهائي ليلاقي باريس سان جيرمان، في المسابقة التي تستمر حتى 13 يوليو الجاري.
وبحسب ما ورد، ريال مدريد في محادثات متقدمة مع رابطة اللاعبين المحترفين في إسبانيا، بهدف التوصل إلى موقف موحّد يطالب بتأجيل مباراته الافتتاحية في الدوري الإسباني لموسم 2025-2026، والتي من المقرر أن تجمعه مع أوساسونا يوم 19 أغسطس المقبل.
ويأتي ذلك في ظل تأهل ريال مدريد إلى نصف نهائي كأس العالم للأندية 2025، ما سيؤدي إلى تقليص فترة الإعداد الصيفي إلى الحد الأدنى، في وقت ينص فيه الاتفاق الجماعي مع رابطة الدوري على ضرورة حصول اللاعبين على ثلاثة أسابيع من الراحة ومثلها للتحضير للموسم الجديد.
وأبدت رابطة اللاعبين المحترفين استياءها من تجاهل الاتفاقات السابقة، مشيرة إلى أن رابطة الليجا كانت قد أبدت مرونة في وقت سابق حيال تأجيل الجولة الافتتاحية إذا وصل أحد الأندية الإسبانية إلى الأدوار المتقدمة في كأس العالم للأندية.

ووفقًا لمصادر داخل رابطة اللاعبين المحترفين برئاسة ديفيد أجانزو بحسب ما أوضحت صحيفة “آس” الإسبانية، فإن التواصل جرى بالفعل مع قادة ريال مدريد وأتلتيكو مدريد، داني كارفاخال وكوكي، لمعرفة خياراتهما في حال وصول أي من الناديين إلى مراحل متقدمة من كأس العالم للأندية.
ودعم ثنائي ريال مدريد وأتلتيكو مدريد تأجيل الجولة الأولى لضمان الاستعداد الجيد والحفاظ على صحتهما، وضمان فترة إعداد عادلة.
ورغم أن رابطة الليجا حددت موعدًا متأخرًا نسبيًا لمباراة ريال مدريد (مساء الثلاثاء 19 أغسطس) بهدف منح الفريق وقتًا إضافيًا للراحة، إلا أن ريال مدريد يرى أن هذا لا يفي بالحد الأدنى المطلوب.
وعبر خافيير تيباس، رئيس رابطة الليجا، في تصريحات سابقة عن تحفظه تجاه تأجيل بداية الموسم، مشيرًا إلى أن بقية الدوريات الأوروبية لن تقوم بخطوات مماثلة رغم مشاركة أنديتها في البطولة ذاتها، ما زاد من حدة التوتر بين رابطة الليجا ورابطة اللاعبين المحترفين.
وحتى الآن، لم تُحسم المسألة، لكن هناك اتجاهًا قويًا داخل أروقة ريال مدريد ورابطة اللاعبين المحترفين للتصعيد بشكل رسمي في حال لم تستجب رابطة الليجا والاتحاد الإسباني لكرة القدم للمطلب، في محاولة لحماية صحة اللاعبين وضمان العدالة في توزيع الجهد بين الأندية قبل انطلاق الموسم.
