“I think he knew was it was coming,” Cummins said on Thursday. “The message to Harry is we think he is going really well. It’s really tough on him. It’s not too often someone comes in and hits two hundreds in the same game. But I thought Marcus has been really good I think he’s been growing with each game he was a huge part in how we won that MCG Test with a crucial innings.”So he’s certainly part of the future. We’ll keep investing in him. I think he’s been going really well.”It is the third time Harris has been dropped in his 14-Test career. The selectors were determined to give him a run at the top of the order and he has played in Australia’s last five Test matches after coming in for the final match against India last summer. But he has passed 50 just three times in 26 Test innings and only once in his last five matches, albeit a match-winning 76 in the third Test at the MCG.It has been a tough series for openers on both sides due to the bowler-friendly surfaces and Harris has reached 20 in four consecutive innings but only has one half-century to show for it. His overall Test average of 25.29 left him vulnerable to the selectors’ axe. “No, absolutely not,” Cummins said. “I think Uzzy and Davey have really earned that spot to open the batting but the reality is they’re both 35 years old. So whilst that doesn’t mean anything in the short, short term there will be a day where we need to find some other openers. Marcus is still absolutely got a huge future with us. He’ll be around the squad. I think there might even be an Australia A tour go overseas in the off-season. Of course, there’s heaps of Shield cricket and county cricket as well so for sure this is probably more a case of someone demanding a spot as opposed to Marcus losing his spot.”Khawaja averages 96.80 and has made two centuries in seven Test innings as an opener, including 145 in a pink-ball Test against South Africa in Adelaide in 2016. He averages 39.30 opening in first-class cricket across 36 innings with four centuries, although three have come on the subcontinent. But he hasn’t batted higher than No. 4 in his last 22 first-class innings, during which time he has compiled six first-class hundreds and has averaged 65.94.”Really confident with Uzzy opening,” Cummins said. “He’s a class player. He can bat anywhere in the order. Even at the start of the summer when he was part of the squad, from the selectors’ point of view and being his captain I felt like he could bat anywhere from one to six so he’ll slot straight into one, everyone else stays where they are. He’ll be honest.”Boland does have a good pink-ball record in first-class cricket averaging 22.64 overall but he has a poor record at Bellerive Oval in both pink and red-ball games averaging 64.Richardson took seven wickets in his one and only Sheffield Shield red-ball match at Bellerive earlier this season and took five wickets in the fourth innings of the pink-ball Test in Adelaide but missed the MCG and SCG Tests due to shin soreness.

أنشيلوتي نفى أي نية لتهرب من دفع الضرائب وأوضح أن مستشاريه كانوا يتعاملون مع شؤونه المالية. وأكد أنه لم يشعر بوجود أي مشكلة قانونية.

من جانبها، النيابة العامة تطالب بسجن أنشيلوتي لمدة أربع سنوات وتسعة أشهر، بالإضافة إلى فرض غرامات مالية تزيد عن ثلاثة ملايين يورو نتيجة للتهرب الضريبي المزعوم.

وأضاف: “كنت مهتمًا فقط بالحصول على ستة ملايين يورو صافية على مدى ثلاث سنوات، ولم أكن أدرك أن هناك شيئًا غير صحيح، ولم أتلق أي إشعار بأن النيابة العامة تحقق ضدي”.

وأتم: “عندما اقترح ريال مدريد علي ذلك (مشيرًا إلى نقل حقوق الصورة) تواصلت مع مستشاري الإنجليزي ولم أتدخل في الموضوع لأن كل شيء كان يبدو صحيحًا لي، لم أعتقد أنه قد يكون احتيالًا، لكن مع وجودي هنا أمامكم، فأعتقد أن الأمور لم تكن صحيحة تمامًا”.

كشف الإعلامي أحمد شوبير، عن حقيقة مفاوضات النادي الأهلي، لضم مدافع الزمالك حسام عبد المجيد، بعد أن ترددت أنباء قوية بشأن اهتمام القلعة الحمراء بضم اللاعب في الفترة الحالية.

وقال شوبير في تصريحات عبر برنامجه الإذاعي صباح اليوم الأربعاء: “حسام عبد المجيد لاعب الزمالك، وباقي في النادي، وعقده مستمر مع القلعة البيضاء، هذا أمر مهم، لأن عقده لا زال يتبقى فيه عامين ونصف”.

وشدد: “على مسؤولي الزمالك أن يجلسوا مع اللاعب، ولا يكررون أخطاء سابقة وأخطاء حالية بشأن التمسك بلاعبيهم، وبالنسبة للنادي الأهلي فإنه لا يُفاوض حسام عبد المجيد على الإطلاق”.

واختتم: “لا يوجد أي تواصل بين النادي الأهلي وحسام عبد المجيد، هو لاعب رائع، وأنا سعيد جدًا بعد أن فرض نفسه والناس كانت تضحك وتسخر وتقول كيف يكون هذا مدافع الزمالك، لكن الآن أصبح مدافع منتخب مصر الأساسي”.

Ahead of the game at the Emirates, United have suffered an injury setback, as Luke Shaw has confirmed that he will miss the game against Arsenal and probably a few more, as he’s picked up what looks to be another muscle injury.

The injury is considered a “small” one, but Shaw took to Instagram on Tuesday night to thank fans for their support and state how frustrated he is with his recent injury problems: “It’s hurting a lot having to write this as I really thought I had got through my recent struggles and was on a positive path going forward, but unfortunately I’ve had a small setback.”

He continued: “But what I can promise is I will do everything I can to come back better soon to help this club achieve its ambitions this season. Thank you to everyone for the support. It really doesn’t go unnoticed, and I really do appreciate it.”

However, in positive news for United, Amorim has revealed that he is confident Amad Diallo will sign a new contract to remain at Old Trafford. The Ivory Coast international has been sensational since Amorim’s arrival, and he looks to be a key part of the Portuguese’s plans going forward.

Man Utd hold talks over deal for Antoni Milambo

According to Sky Sports German reporter Florian Plettenberg, Manchester United are interested in signing Antoni Milambo from Feyenoord. The 19-year-old has been with the Dutch side since 2014, working his way through the club’s youth academy before moving into the first team in 2023.

The versatile midfielder, who has won two caps for the Netherlands’ under-21s, made his first-team debut in the 2022/23 season but didn’t really establish himself in the first team fold until last season. Milambo played 13 times for Feyenoord in all competitions, featuring in both the Champions League and Europa League.

Plettenberg states that United consider Milambo a future transfer target, as he’s been on their list for some time now. Internal discussions have been held at Old Trafford over the signing of the midfielder, who can operate as a winger as well as a central midfielder, both as a ten and an eight.

UAE’s uncanny run of dominance over Ireland has now extended to five straight T20Is, and their third win in the last 12 days against the Test nation, as the top-ranked Associate rode Muhammad Waseem’s second T20I century to a seven-wicket win in the final of the 2022 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Qualifier A tournament in Oman. Just like Waseem’s first maiden ton in October, it came in a successful chase against Ireland.Despite the loss, Ireland can take solace in the fact that they, along with UAE, had already secured their T20 World Cup berth by virtue of having made this final.Pursuing a target of 160, UAE stumbled early in their reply as Chirag Suri and Vriitya Aravind fell in the space of three balls to Josh Little, each time pulling to Simi Singh at deep square leg, to make it 12 for 2 in the fourth over. Waseem should have been out for 10 off 20 balls from the first ball after the Powerplay, bowled by Barry McCarthy, but Shane Getkate lost his bearings and stepped over the boundary rope while taking a catch at deep backward square that turned a wicket into six.The close shave sprang Waseem into life and afterwards he took charge, serving as the aggressor in a historic 141-run partnership with Rohan Mustafa, UAE’s highest stand for any wicket in T20Is. He brought up his half-century off 38 balls during an assault on Gareth Delany’s legspin in the 12th over, smashing a pair of half-trackers over midwicket for six and four. It took him just 21 more balls to move on to three figures, swatting a full toss from Singh to the leg side boundary before raising his arms aloft. He finally fell seven runs short of the target for 112, chipping a simple catch to Andy Balbirnie at extra cover off Andy McBrine, but not before belting seven fours and eight sixes.Mustafa, who scored 30 runs alongside Waseem, knocked off the final seven runs to end unbeaten on 37 off 35 balls, clinching victory with eight balls to spare. As Mustafa has proved numerous times over the years to Ireland, he was once again a thorn in the side with ball as well as bat, having taken 3 for 30 in four overs to help set up a chaseable total after Ireland chose to bat first at the toss.Ireland were struggling at 19 for 3 after Mustafa claimed the wicket of Paul Stirling for 12 to cap a sequence of 3 for 4 which also saw Balbirnie and Delany fall cheaply. After a 43-run stand between Lorcan Tucker and Harry Tector, another mini-slide ensued in the middle order in which Ireland lost 3 for 5 to fall to 67 for 6, one ball past the midway stage of the innings.However, Tector and Getkate combined for a 55-run stand to keep Ireland alive and then some. Tector eventually ended with a top score of 50, before both he and Getkate fell in the space of five balls to Zahoor Khan, back for a death spell in the 17th. But McCarthy and Mark Adair struck some lusty blows in the final three overs to help Ireland add another 34 to the total. The January transfer window is a good chance for Farke and the 49ers Enterprises to freshen things up, and ahead of the window opening, the German has his eye on a few potential arrivals. The Yorkshire side are set to sign goalkeeper teenager Robbie Cook after he impressed on trial at Thorp Arch. Cook was also being looked at by Manchester United but is set to sign for Leeds, where he will hope one day he becomes their number one.

Leeds are also among the teams interested in signing Aston Villa sensation Louie Barry. The forward has been so impressive on loan at Stockport County, and he is expected to be recalled in January before being loaned out to a Championship team. Farke’s men have joined the long list of teams keen on signing Barry, but it remains unclear where he could end up.

Leeds eyeing move for "outstanding" £10m defender

According to TBR Football, Leeds United are eyeing Atalanta defender Ben Godfrey. The 26-year-old joined the Europa League winners in the summer in a deal worth £10 million from Everton, but it is a move that hasn’t worked out well for the player.

Godfrey, who was labelled “outstanding” by Rio Ferdinand back in 2020, has played just four times for Atalanta, none of which have come as a starter, and only one has come in the league.

It is being reported that several teams from the Premier League, including Nottingham Forest, Wolves, Brighton, Brentford, and Crystal Palace, are interested in signing the versatile defender in January. Leeds are also keen on the centre-back, but the chances of them signing Godfrey are harder, as they would need to seal promotion to the Premier League this season for them to have a chance of signing him. Godfrey will only leave Atalanta in January if an “irresistible” bid is made, as despite a lack of playing time, he is happy in Bergamo.

Farke is someone who knows Godfrey very well, as the pair worked together at Norwich City. During their time together at Carrow Road, Godfrey said of Farke that he “trusts his opinion,” while Farke also dubbed Godfrey “outstanding” and said he is an “emotional player,” which he “likes a lot”.

The German said, as quoted by talkSPORT in 2019: “You can speak about the best centre-backs in the world now, but at 19 and 20 they will have made mistakes. The best ones learn. Ben is playing without mistakes, and that is outstanding. He is a pretty emotional player, and I like that a lot because it means you are capable of finding another gear.”
